Yeah I totally agree, plus the fact that they state who Percy’s father is in the TRAILER for the movie, while a lot of the book is about him finding out who his father is. I’m definately worried that the movie isn’t going to be that great…

I agree I had better expectations for Ares, this guy is too old to be the god of war…:(, but then again, in the Harry Potter series I couldn't imagine Brendan Gleeson as Mad Eye Moody until I actually saw him in the role

Okay, okay, okay. You guys clearly don’t know Ray Winstone. They couldn’t have picked anyone better to be Ares. The guy is only in his fifties! I dont know about you, but a lot of cool bikers are in their fifties, and keep in mind that Ares has been around for millions of years! Another thing, Chiron tells Percy in the preview that his Dad is Poseidon in a mere voice over. This could be at any time during the movie. After the capture the flag incident for instance? There is a clip on the preview that shows a tatoo of a trident. This is Poseidon’s claim of Percy. If he already knew that he was Poseidon’s son, dont you think the director would’ve cut that part out? Research harder next time you judge a movie, and use your frikkin head!

Oh, and as for all the complaints at the beginning of the chatroom, about Apollo’s age and stuff; its Hollywood. They will change things. Deal with it. If things are even remotely similar to the books, great. But You have to accept movies for what they are, and put them in a seperate categorie aside from the books. Nothing can be perfect! Trust me, doing that for me made Harry Potter 4 a lot easier to watch.

Annabeth never reveals her true, deep and hidden feeling for Percy until much later in the series, even then it isn't as obvious. They are going to be sooo old by the time the series is over. I am very upset by the random monsters and scenes that have been released. Persephonie was not in the underworld when Percy met Hades, Percy only wished she was. But then, in the trailer, Persephonie knocks Hades out? So disappointed. I haven't seen anything about Camp Half Blood, they better not have messed that up too. I guess we will just have to wait and see.
Sorry for any misspellings.

The gods in the story can look both like teenagers, or young people, or they can also look like grown-ups.

Good point!!

Yeah, when you see how they look like in real life, you're thinking, "Why are they playing that role?" But when you see the movie with them acting in it and all dressed up, then you're like, "They did a pretty good job, actually."

So if that guy is playing Ares, does that mean they are making a second movie?
I hope!!
why is Ares played by an old guy? Why does Percy looke 16 when he’s really 12? Why doesn’t Grover have pimples? I thought Apollo was supposed to look like a teenager! Why does Annabeth state her feelings for Percy in the movie trailer?!
I guess movies will never be as good as their paper counterparts. *sigh*
